WSP Systems strengthens IT-related band with ROC-A12 and SBB

Last summer, a vacancy for an internship at the ICT department appeared on www.werkenbijwsp.com. A number of candidates responded to this and in September a student from the ROC-A12 in Veenendaal in Overberg started his 20-week ‘midden’ internship for the ICT-level at MBO level 4. Because this type of internship requires a recognized training company, WSP at SBB (Samenwerkingsorganisatie Beroepsonderwijs Bedrijfsleven) has successfully extended its recognition as ICT practice trainer for the ICT administrator training (25189) and Network and media management (25190). The internship at the department can now also be found on www.stagemarkt.nl.

Soon the ROC-A12 ICT training in Ede and Veenendaal also showed a great need for training places in the regional business community for graduation projects. To this end, the WSP ICT department has developed some internal research projects as a graduation project and sent them to the internship coordinator of the school. There was also immediate interest and recently 2 students in their third and final year have started a 10-week graduation project: They are examining how WSP can use mesh technology for industrial application in laundries and other technological developments on WiFi area. They can use the test environment for wireless network technology that WSP has set up in its assembly hall in Amerongen. That way, students get the best practical training, and we and other companies in the region have the professionals we so desperately need.
